Introducing….Tazman
Ventilating the UK music scene with his unmistakable lyrical prowess, 17 year old Tazman is the rising newcomer set to light the streets with his debut mixtape Entourage early 2009.
“I hope to take the music industry by storm and as far as no one has ever took it from my era. But as soon as my mixtape drops and its wrapped, covered and sealed let me just say its going to be gameover because i will take over!”
Tazman is on a mission to bring back good music and to make grime the main headline. A bold and weighty proposition this may be but Tazman carries more under his belt at the moment than a world heavyweight boxer. But it’s a challenge for the multitalented MC and his ever expanding group of supporters believe he is more then capable of seeing through with the release of Entourage.
In the brief period since he’s been looking from a view into the grime scene he’s already been touted as the next big thing. Many fellow artist and supporters proclaim him as ‘About To Blow’.
His position as the future of UK music has been an goal cemented in his ability to be the main headline and to sell out shows across the UK or whip up a crowd frenzy while supporting acts such as the legends of grime and rap.
Entourage eschews being carried on the back of big name producers and stands 14 tracks tall above today’s mass produced over-saturated music market. Both though-provoking, hard hitting and fun the album is packed full of gold and homegrown features that will appeal to all ages and tastes.
Tazman's ascension into one of the UK’s most promising talents happened by coincidence. Spurned on by his friends and the success of Lethal B’s 2004 grime anthem ’Pow (Forward Riddim)’ Tazman first picked up the mic and started rapping over grime beats in his bedrins crib for a short while until he moved onto studios such as reinasaunce records. He soon realised that he had a knack for vocalising his thoughts in an succinct stream of consciousness far belying his young years. The next task was to find a suitable pseudonym.
Then Tazman stopped for a long period after people around him weren't feelings his flow on the mic. But from then thought "F*** it "Im the best" and im gonna do my ting!"
Tazman‘s message to the Government is clear: “Politicians can’t tell the youths to change if you haven’t got another option for them“ he says. “You need to show the youths today that there is another lifestyle to live by showing them another route in life to persue, so instead of going round hasstling the youths today show them something new thats gonna earn them money and girls because thats what i thinks most important and i dont think theres anyone that will disagree with me on that“. Refreshingly articulate without coming across too preachy, he’s the type of teen rolemodel that Gordon Brown should have on speed dial.
His journey up to recording the mixtape has been full of late nights and early mornings as Tazman is diligently studying for his A Levels in Multimedia after dropping out of Level 3 ict last year 2007.
Tazman’s appeal lies in the fact that he refuses to be a product of his environment. ““I’ve always got the option to talk negativity in my rhymes because i used to, I’ve seen it and been around it and technically the streets is within me“ he says. “I know what’s going on and I know what’s happening to the youths and i think they need someone to look up to and if by looking at me, people can say ‘if he can do it, I can do it too’ or ‘I want my flow to persist like his’ then that’s what it’s all about“.
And if you’re left with any questions about why 2009 is set to be Tazman's year. Here’s your answer: “Because Entourage will be out then. And I guarantee if you buy one, your going to be happy and your going to definately want one for your house and your car. Entourage will be one of the best cd's out yet”
