"For a group that only formed in June 2007, JLS are on course to take 2008 by storm" JLS are already an award-winning supergroup, being crowned the Nations Best Unsigned Act at the 2007 Urban Music Awards, beating off 75,000 competitors and then 20 nominees. The group comprises of JB, Marvin, Aston and Oritsé, who make it their ambition to warm people's hearts with their exhilarating performances, heartfelt vocals and distinctive sound. This distinctive sound has evolved into a genre they call JLS,"Jack the Lad Swing". They recorded their first exclusive cut for Radio 1 DJ, Ras Kwame and they have already generated local interest throughout the UK, as well as being requested to perform at acoustic nights and major club venues nationwide. JB hails from a classical background, having musically developed at the Centre for Young Musicians since the age of 9. The 19 year old from South London then went on to work with development agency Major Music and production company Teamworks, before his integration into JLS. Four years have passed since Aston, 18, performed on stars in their eyes as a young Michael Jackson. He then moved onto national television, working for Citv before he decided to follow his true passion, music, as an integral part of JLS. Marvin, 20 from South-East London is no stranger to the music industry, as he already had success with a band that had two top ten hits and were signed to Virgin records. After a disappointing and abrupt end to this stage of his career, the call from Oritsé made him realise that JLS would be the avenue for him. Founding member Oritsé, 19, appeared on MTV Base "The Lick" at 18. Trevor Nelson touted him as being "Exactly what the UK needs" and his vision has been imprinted onto the JLS ideal. As a singing, dancing, song writing group, JB, Aston, Marvin and Oritsé are the 4 ingredients needed to create the perfect musical platform. After performing at the Indigo2 as part of the Project Talent UK final and striving to succeed in X FACTOR, JLS are set to cause an electrifying invasion of the music scene.
